“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
God’s power is greatest in our weakness. If you’ve spent time around Christians for any length of time, you’ve heard people say something to this effect…well, because it is true! But it can begin to lose its impact after hearing it without context over and over. With that in mind, I want to invite you into a spiritual exercise with me this morning so we can refresh our perspective of God’s grace.
Spiritual Prayer Practice:
Take a few deep breaths and become aware of God’s presence by calling out to him by name. After a few moments of silence, ask Him to show you something that you are currently struggling with -particularly something that you have chosen to go it alone in (for whatever reason). In this weakness, God’s grace can spring forth in your life. He is ready to begin a work of resurrection and transformation. Will you let him?
Instead of hiding our struggles, we can lean on His strength. Go to a trusted friend, your pastor, your mentor, or someone else you trust and share what you have thought about today with them. I am also always here to pray with you!
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, in my weakness, be my strength. I want to see you work in a powerful way in my humanity. Amen.
